Canada’s History Society Recognizes Hidden Histories!

Canada’s most prestigious history prize celebrating the achievements of history
teachers, museums, scholars, community groups, and popular media creators has
recognized St. Malachy’s High School’s Hidden Histories Project! Connie Shea,
teacher and project coordinator, was named as a 2024 laureate of the Governor
General’s History Award for Excellence in Teaching. She received this honour
from Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of
Canada, during a ceremony held at Government House in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on
Nov. 20th. Congratulations to all involved with the Hidden Histories Project at St.
Malachy’s!
